Program description
Goodwill’s Supported Employment Program is available for individuals with a disability who would like individualized assistance with preparing for, finding, and keeping a job. Additional support services can be coordinated as needed which may include help with solving problems at work or in day-to-day living.

Goodwill will help identify vocational skills, strengths, and areas of interest for use in finding job opportunities that match those criteria. A Goodwill employment consultant will assist the employer with teaching the tasks of the job and help the employee learn the job at the job site. Coaching continues at no cost to the individual until the employer and individual are satisfied that assistance is no longer necessary. Follow-up service includes regular on-site visits and employee evaluations by Goodwill to ensure that the employee-employer match is working effectively. Follow-up service continues for as long as the employee needs it.

Entry requirements

• Age: at least 16
• Individual must be able to assure Goodwill they are medically stable prior to undertaking a vocational program
• Individual must be drug/substance free, or be actively involved in a treatment program and/or support group. Services may be contingent on the impact of substance abuse associated behavior.
• Individuals are expected to demonstrate nondestructive behavioral to themselves and toward others
