Goodwill provides work opportunities for people with barriers to employment and offers tools to employees for personal development, such as continued education, one-on-one coaching to help employees improve their work and family life balance, a personalized wellness program, and financial management training.

 

  

 

Strategic Leaders

Goodwill Industries and the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis introduced a graduate certificate program tailored to meet the emerging leadership needs of Goodwill now and in the future. The formal graduate certificate program is designed to enhance the foundation of knowledge within the next generation of Goodwill leaders. These emerging leaders explore new models by which to lead a growing organization through its dynamic environment.

GoodSigns

GoodSigns focuses on a holistic approach to wellness by helping employees and family members committed to lifestyle improvements and changes to improve their physical, emotional, educational and financial health.

Return on investment:

  • 50% of employees are enrolled in GoodSigns
  • 22% increase in 2007 health plan enrollment
  • 4% decrease in 2007 health plan expenses
  • 900 Goodwill employees participate in some area of the GoodSigns program. Goodwill spends approximately $285 per participating employee per year.
  • Goodwill saved $4 in health care claims for every $1 spent on wellness, prevention and disease management.
  • In 2007, Goodwill employees saw a 33% reduction in out-of-pocket health care expenses, such as office visits, prescription medications and hospital expenses.
